By elevating audio description from the realm of a translative act, it instead becomes rather a primary mode of production, a fictioning with the potential to be shared by people of all vision capabilities. Workshop participants developed their imagined work in a workshop, engaging with multiple styles of audio descriptions: objective/conventional museum, subjective (the new style advocated for by disability scholars Rosemarie Garland Thompson and Kristin Lindgren), and Gertrude Stein’s exploration of object description Tender Buttons.
